許瑋倫

Most of you probably don't know who she is. And for those who do, probably it's due to my influence. She was like an angel to me and used to be someone I adore. Her wallpapers filled my image folder; her display pictures everywhere; I had lots of her videos, from CM to MV to dramas.

She's pretty and stylish, she likes to wear head and hand accessories, she plays the piano and the harp, she speaks French and she's an actress from Taiwan.

And she just passed away.. in an accident on the highway.. at the young age of 28..

For her, it's really the end of the world. Life's so unpredictable.. and even more vulnerable. No one would have known that there is no tomorrow, no one would have known that the future plans for the days (weeks, months or even years) to come would never be fulfilled. For her, this is true. So, don't live in the past, don't live for the future, just live everyday like there's no tomorrow.

This post is a tribute to her. Whether you know her or not, I hope you can spend a moment now to pray for her to rest in peace and for her family and friends to be strong.

She will always be remembered.

Love Calls - Picking Stones

I got this from an email. It's a bit lengthy (and it's in chinese), so I decided to separate them into a few posts. =)

To be continued..

Bitterness

Today my mum made us some 洋参水. When I went ahead and took the first sip, it was bitter. But as I drank more of it, it seems that my tongue gets more used to the taste and the bitterness fades.. somehow. I could still taste the bitter, but it's more plain as compared to the first mouthful. To avoid suffering for long, I quickly gulped the whole glass and then popped into my mouth a coconut candy.

I guess no one likes bitterness, but sooner or later the horrid taste will flow plain.. it just depends on how long...

Priceless

Tada! I'm back!

I know it's not something I should do after just 1 week of saying goodbye, as if my previous post was anything but serious. Trust me, I had meant what I said. I just decided that thoughts are better to be expressed than to keep away. Besides, some things (like this blog) are just too hard to let go..

A few days ago, I recalled, when I was still a child, how my dad unconditionally bought me the hottest Sega console set, just simply because I requested him to. Plus a couple of newest original games, even though I already had my Micro Genius. Thinking back, I feel ashamed the way I made him spend so much on such worthless things when what he earned was only peanuts.

Perhaps if I had been more sensible then, I wouldn't have made such a selfish request. But what was it that made my dad not think twice about buying something so expensive? I have a conclusion. I will leave it to you to find yours.

Now I feel even more ashamed of myself, by putting a price to my father's love. Like I said, it was unconditional. A couple of hundred dollars? It meant nothing to him.

To imitate Mastercard's series of priceless commercials:

A Sega console set: $200
A couple of original games: $120
The smile a dad puts on his son's face: priceless

There are some things money can't buy.

That's all, folks!

It must have been a long time since I last posted. Couldn't find the passion to blog anymore. That explains why most of the posts were actually lifted from elsewhere and not really personally from me. By the time you read until here, and judging from the title of the post, you probably would have guessed that I have decided to stop blogging. At least for the time being...

Not really a decision that I just made, but was one that I have long decided. Wanted to do a 'ending' post like this one, but was simply too lazy even to write. =b

I am quite a perfectionist. When I was in army, I would pack my cupboard in 'standby condition' even during lull period when we no longer do standby.. (but now my room is in a BIG mess). But I still see myself as a perfectionist. Trust me, you won't believe how much I standardize the mp3s in my computer. Erm, perhaps many people also do that, but well.. you get what I mean.. Maybe you should see the codes in the programs that I'd written. You probably wouldn't believe the extreme neatness that I have made the extra effort to make it so. Keke..

Talking about perfection, I think no one's perfect. Why then, does the word even exist? Maybe this is how people survive.. chasing ideals in order to make their life better. I am also quite an idealist (did I mention I am a perfectionist?). But I have learnt to be practical. People have dreams, people have goals, but most of the time dreams remain dreams. Dreams cannot feed you. That is why interests, more often than not, stay no more than a sideline. Of course there would be some lucky ones whose interests meet work. Do I sound like I am complaining? Keke, sorry if I sound too whiny and whimpering. Remember that I am an idealist? Nevermind if it doesn't link. If you have dreams, go search for it, work towards it and don't let my cold water drench your spirits. =)

Oh, I digressed. I don't want to let my blog stay in its previous state you see? So I will write one last 'farewell' post. It looks nicer this way (being ideal?). Think this wasn't the first time I do this? I may be back, or may not. It's hard to predict this moment what will happen the next, let alone the far future. I usually go along with my mood or emotions, so one minute I end it, the other I may start again. Sorry, but let me sidetrack again, for I just recalled a quote I'd read before. Here it goes:

"We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly."
- Sam Keen, from To Love and Be Loved
I digressed. A long post, with too much rubbish.. rubbish.. Congratulations if you manage to bear with me until here. No prize though. As most people would know me as, I am not a long-winded person. But you can see that a lot of things go through my mind, with that much to write. Perhaps I just find it hard to put thoughts into words? Oops, am I writing a biography about myself? I meant to make it short, but.. sorry.. I will end it here..

In school, they taught that the last paragraph should sum up your entire passage...

That's all, folks! Till then..
